Quantitative Finance Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for finance professionals and academics. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I would like to pursue a career in the finance industry. Specifically looking to work in the technology side with regards to algorithmic trading and developing software based on quantitative algorithms.

I know to get to that level that I will require a degree, which I am currently working on, extra curricular education and work experience.

I know that there is the series 7, series 3 certification exams. Anyone can think of other exams and certifications one can train for for extracurricular education?

Thanks in advance.

As per the FAQ, Quant SE is intended for professionals and academic researchers. You've also asked similar survey-type questions to this. – chrisaycock Mar 14 '11 at 3:33
Questions related to Quant Education would be better off on Quantnet.com – Andy Nguyen Mar 14 '11 at 3:42
@Andy Agreed. I'd hate to send users to another forum, but QuantNet is the best quant education resource. As for the SE family, Programmers handles career questions, as long as they are specific to software development. In fact, I've answered similar (though better worded) questions like this multiple times: See Equity derivatives programming. – chrisaycock Mar 14 '11 at 3:52
