comment Good Environment, Social, and Governance Indicators to correlate with financial performance of PE
Thanks, that seems like a good idea. Any idea's for indices of responsible stocks?

Thanks your right, I'm looking for fund-level indicators. Pre-investment meaning before the fund is actually started. This could for example be done by looking at earlier funds of the General Partner.

comment Is it ever possible that---because of illiquidity---exercising an out-of-the-money option is better than directly buying the stock?
yes, I agree. What I was trying to suggest was that illiquidity is a bit broader than limited supply (e.g. market regulations). So it would be clearer to use limited supply, because that seems to be the only factor at work here.

I would say the situation you describe arises more from limited supply, rather than from (the somewhat different concept) illiquidity.
