When calculating the return of a mutual fund, do I look at the NAV(+dividends) or do mutual funds trade as different prices compared to their NAV like closed-end funds or ETFs?

  • U.S. Mutual fund shares (unlike ETFs and Closed End Funds) are issued by and redeemed by the MF company at Net Asset Value. There is no market price distinct from NAV. – Alex C Sep 14 at 8:38
  • Do you know if the same goes of European Mutual Funds? – user9259005 Sep 14 at 8:41
  • No, sorry I don't know about European. – Alex C Sep 14 at 8:59
