Does anyone if there is a dataset, possibly free, that has data on the historical performance of US mutual funds? It would be fantastic if it also includes their fee structure also.

  • $\begingroup$ There are many relatively inexpensive sources of such information (morningstar, etc.). But for serious research it is important to use a data source that is free of "back fill bias" and "survivorship bias". (In essence they must select a set of funds at some times in the past and continue to track those funds even if they go out of business, do very poorly or do very well, never revising past information). That may be harder to find. $\endgroup$ – noob2 Feb 16 at 20:44
